Transport and Storage of Sensitive Naval Equipment
Shock and vibration expertise and solutions for sensitive equipment
Naval logistics, from shore to ship and within the vessel, exposes sensitive equipment such as torpedoes, missiles and munitions to significant shock and vibration risks.
SOCITEC’s isolation solutions equip transport crates and storage systems to secure these operations and protect high-value cargo while preserving equipment integrity, operational readiness and safe handling throughout the logistics chain.
Naval munitions are the densest concentration of high-value, high-risk cargo in defense logistics. A torpedo or anti-ship missile is moved dozens of times during its life, from manufacturer to depot, depot to port, port to ship, ship to magazine, magazine to launcher, and each movement involves cranes, forklifts, slings or roll-on/roll-off platforms in often-confined shipboard spaces.
Unlike land logistics, naval handling also takes place on a moving deck, adding ship motion, vibration and dynamic loads caused by waves, sea states and vessel manoeuvres to every operation.
Isolation that survives this combined logistic + dynamic environment is what keeps munitions ready for use rather than waiting for re-certification.
