Nuclear fuels are highly hazardous materials.

Nuclear fuel transport operates under the most stringent safety regime conditions and regulations of any logistics activity, because the consequence of a containment failure is not just financial loss but a public-safety and regulatory event.

Transport casks are engineered to survive extreme accident scenarios, and the handling systems around them (cranes, turntables, spring-supported platforms) must guarantee controlled, shock-free movement at every step, including inside contaminated zones where human intervention is limited.

Here, isolation and controlled-motion engineering are part of the nuclear safety case itself, not merely equipment protection.
