Soldier Survivability and Critical Equipment
Shock and vibration expertise and solutions for sensitive equipment
Protecting personnel and their equipment from mine blasts and gunfire is a fundamental requirement in land defense. SOCITEC develops wire rope isolators engineered to absorb extreme shocks, contributing directly to the survivability of soldiers and peacekeepers while ensuring that critical onboard equipment continues to operate without interruption.
Mine and IED detonations transmit very high-amplitude vertical shock pulses through the vehicle hull in a few milliseconds (energy levels that no conventional suspension can absorb). Beyond the immediate risk to crew, the resulting acceleration spikes can disable critical electronics precisely when they are most needed:power distribution and electrical systems, communication, navigation, fire control, medical monitoring.
Effective soldier survivability therefore depends on a layered approach combining hull design, seat decoupling and isolation of every mission-critical electronic system inside the vehicle, so that crews and systems remain operational immediately after the event.
